Gary Howard Ashberger's Obituary
Gary Ashberger passed away peacefully at his home at Atria Compana del Rio in Tucson, Arizona on August 8, 2025. He was born on September 19, 1942. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Emma Ashberger.
Gary was born and raised in Wenatchee, Washington where he attended Eastmont High School. His parents owned an apple orchard where Gary spent many hours working while he was young.
Gary was an Airman First Class in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Glasgow Air Force Base, Montana. While playing guitar in a rock band he met the love of his life, Vonda Lee Boyd. They were married in 1966 in Wolf Point, Montana. Gary and Vonda Lee moved to Tucson, Arizona where they were incredibly happy for many years and had many friends.
Gary attended Pima Community College and received an AA degree majoring in Computer Program/Analyst. Gary worked in the technology field with Burr Brown and Texas Instruments for forty-five years. He was a Certified Fellow in Production and Management. (CFPIM)
Gary had many talents, he loved building model cars, painting them and running them at the park. He also loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and driving his Hummer as well as riding his tandem bike. A favorite pastime was going to the local shooting range.
Gary’s family wants to extend a sincere thank you to the Atria Memory Care staff and Harmony Hospice for all the care and love they extended to him.
