Gary Curtis Burchard (1961–2025)
Gary Burchard, 63, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, surrounded by
his loving family in Tucson, Arizona. To those who knew him, Gary was
courageous, dedicated, loving, wise, and funny.
He was the devoted husband of Judith and the proud father of twins, Joshua
and Stephanie, to whom he showed unwavering support in their academics,
hobbies, and passions. His love for mentoring and music will remain in the
hearts of all who knew him.
Gary earned his B.S. in Geology from Florida State University in 1985 and his
M.S. in Hydrology from the University of Arizona in 1989. He worked as a
professional in Arizona for 40 years and was hitting his stride when cancer
ended his career far too soon.
Gary’s legacy is one of positivity, resilience, and love.
A celebration of Gary’s life will be held on June 28, 2025, at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church in Tucson, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in
Gary’s honor to the American Red Cross. Blood and plasma donations are also
encouraged to help save others like Gary.
