Gene Kelley's Obituary
Harold Gene Kelley, 72, crossed over Jordan on Wednesday March 7, 2018 in Tucson, AZ. He was born February 4, 1946 in Amarillo, TX to Homer and Lois Kelley.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; his sister Kay and husband Boyd Raef of Duncanville, TX; his son, Kevin Kelley and wife Stephanie of Amarillo, TX; his daughter, Angela and husband Curtis McNabb of Amarillo; his grandchildren Trevor, Brennen, and Siera McNabb, and Caleb Kelley all of Amarillo; his daughter-in-law Casey Myers of Amarillo; brothers-in-law Carson Willsie and wife Janette of Tucson, AZ; Ricky Means and wife Donna of Tucson; Kirk Pittman of Hobbs, NM; sister-in-law Shelia and husband Billy Williams of Hobart, OK; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as many friends.
He was preceeded in death by his parents Homer and Lois Kelley.
Gene was a daredevil adventurer, sprint car, motocross, and flat track motor cycle racer, bungee jumper, hunter, horseback rider, avid swimmer, water and snow skier, mountain climber, cave explorer, dancer (he was known as the Be Bop Kid in his youth), dog lover, and chef extraordinaire. As he aged and was no longer able to be the daredevil he once was, he told all the stories many times over and at some point they may have begun to grow and take new form.
Big-hearted and generous, whether you were his neighbor, friend or total stranger he would give you the shirt off his back if you asked for it. He was also opinionated, argumentative and always had the last word.
He was a brave soul to the very end, looked forward to meeting his Maker and was curious to see what lies on the other side. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
