George C. Van der Veer, Jr.'s Obituary
George C. Vander Veer, Jr. January 21, 1927 - December 9, 2011 84, longtime resident of Tucson, went to be with the Lord on December 9, 2011. Raised on a ranch near Central City, CO, after high school graduation, George served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. He graduated from the University of Denver and worked as an accountant and stock broker for many years. George retired recently from Evergreen Mortuary and Cemetery. George was an active member of Casas Church for over 30 years and served on a number of mission trips overseas. He is survived by his son, George C "Tim" Vander Veer III and his wife, Renee, of Huntsville, AL; daughter Dana Vander Veer of Mancos, CO; and two granddaughters, Nancy and Rebecca Vander Veer in Alabama. George also leaves special friends Mary Simpson and Joan Riffle. Memorial Service will be held 3:00 P.M., Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Casas Church, 10801 N. La Cholla Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85742 (4.5 miles north of Ina Road). Private interment in the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Sierra Vista, AZ. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY & CEMETERY.
