Gerald Lee Davis' Obituary
On Wednesday, September 21, 2022, Gerald Lee Davis, our beloved dad, and grandpa, peacefully passed away at the age of 85. Jerry was born in Tucson, Arizona on August 16, 1937, the youngest child of Kennedy and Althea Davis.
He is proceeded in death by his parents and siblings, Max Davis, Kenny Davis, Bob Davis, and Shirley Davis. He is survived by the love of his life, Maureen (Moe) Coady, his children, Rodney Davis, Deborah Davis, and Lorrie Davis, also 5 grandchildren, Maison Davis, Aidan Davis, Jessica Fatteruso, Ryan Stanton, and Nikole Stanton plus three great grandchildren and nieces and nephews, Trina Davis, Marvin Davis, and Gary Wayne Davis. Jerry joined the Navy in 1954 at the age of 17 and honorably served in Vietnam.
He retired after 20 years, in 1974, as a Senior Chief. After retirement he went on to become a successful business owner, Excavator, working on many jobs around the Tucson and Mt. Lemon areas. After retirement, he began to follow his passion of singing. Singing and playing many instruments by ear was a great talent of our dad. He loved karaoke with friends and ultimately published an Album called “Welcome to Gerry Lee’s World”. He loved tinkering with old cars, traveling in his RV with Moe, and time with family and friends at Apache Lake.
A committal service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery on Friday, October 7th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to DAV Chapter 4 Tucson (Disabled American Veterans, Tucson).
