Gerald "Jerry" W. Roberts' Obituary
Gerald W. “Jerry” Roberts, 65, of Owatonna, MN died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 in Mansfield, OH. Born June 28, 1949 in Shelby, OH, he was the son of James Clairmont and Lucy Alivivan (Woodring) Roberts. Jerry was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving during the Vietnam War. He worked for an auto parts store, was an insurance salesman, and a truck driver. Jerry was truly a wonderful man and will be missed by all who knew him and always wanted to be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Ford) Roberts of Owatonna, MN; his children, Teri (Jim) Norris of Boise, ID, James (Andrea) Roberts of Austin, MN, Jenni Noriega of Tucson, AZ, Charlotte Roberts of Owatonna, MN, Kelli (Mike) Freeman of Mansfield and Laurence Roberts of Tucson, AZ; 15 grandchldren; a sister, Jean (Robert) Moffitt of Tucson, AZ; a sister-in-law, Georgianna Roberts of Mansfield; three aunts; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Lee Roberts. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at EVERGREEN MORTUARY & CEMETERY, N. Oracle Rd. & W. Miracle Mile, conducted by nephew Kenneth Oliver, followed by a Celebration of Life service at North Swan Baptist Church, 2727 N. Swan Rd., at 11:30 a.m. conducted by Kenneth Oliver and Pastor/Cousin Gilbert Lawson, with a catered luncheon in the fellowship hall immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled Americans Veterans in Jerry’s name.
