Gerald Jay Shull's Obituary
Gerald Jay Shull was born January 10, 1947, to Kenneth and Geraldine Shull in Geneva, Pa. He went to be with the Lord Oct. 15, 2024, following a hard-fought battle with Colon Cancer. Gerald graduated from Benson Union High School in 1966. After high school he attended Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville, Okla. and Cochise College in Douglas, Ariz. In 1968 he was drafted by the U.S. Army and went to Vietnam where he was wounded. Once he returned home, he became a Teamster and worked for Tucson Rock and Sand along with his dad. Gerald was a Vietnam Veteran and a Purple Heart recipient. He loved his country and was proud to be a Veteran. He loved spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed ranching, hunting, fishing, and camping.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Gerald is survived by his wife Margaret Shull of 26 years and four children, Susan (Robert) Perry, Helena, Mont., George Shull, Tucson, Ariz., Maria Elena Flores (Arnold), Litchfield Park, Ariz., Audrey Traywick, Benson, Ariz., Stepsons Woodrow Skinner (Annie), Tucson, Ariz., and James Skinner, Tucson, Ariz.
Gerald is reunited in heaven with his parents Kenneth and Geraldine Shull, sisters Joyce (Larry) Roberts and Judy (Stephen) Hawkins. He is survived by his brother, Gene Shull (Donna), Benson, Ariz., sister, Jodie Foster (Darrell), Benson, Ariz., brother, Geoffrey Shull (Gale), Benson, Ariz., and sister, Joni Flores (Larry, Deceased) of Tucson, Ariz.; fourteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends.
Services will be Fri., Nov. 15, 2024, 8:30 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 105 N. Norton Ave., Tucson, Ariz. Internment to begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Marana, Ariz., Following internment, a luncheon will be at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Tucson, Ariz.
Pallbearers: Gene Shull, Geoff Shull, George Shull, Robert Perry, Susan Perry, Maria Elena Flores, Audrey Traywick and James Skinner.
