Gilbert Epler Mannino's Obituary
Gilbert Epler Mannino, 73, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Tucson Medical Center following a brief illness.
He leaves his wife of 49 years, Susan Mannino, his daughter, Ginevra Mannino, his son, Greg Mannino, and his two grandchildren, Damon Mariscal and Brandon Mannino.
He was born on October 29, 1943 in Brooklyn New York son of Rosario Gilbert Mannino and Helen Epler Mannino.
After graduating from the University of Dayton in 1965 with a Bachelor of Arts degree he moved to Tucson Arizona to pursue his Master of Arts at the University of Arizona. This is where he met his wife to be, Susan. In 1967, Gilbert and Susan were married and moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where in 1971 their first child Ginevra was born. Longing for the beautiful sunsets in Tucson, they moved back. Their second child, Greg, was born in 1975. Gilbert worked as an Adult Probation officer in Pima County for 25 years when he retired in 1998. He found pleasure in activities such as travelling the world, eating and drinking with his family, getting into adventures with his grandson, gardening, reading, working as the Senior Warden for St. Andrew’s Church for three years and brewing his own beer and wine in which he produced for the church for over seven years.
