Gladys Fain's Obituary
Gladys Fain passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family and friends in Tucson, Arizona on June 6, 2015 at the age of 101. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Harold Fain. She and Harold were deeply in love, and they enjoyed traveling, dancing, golfing, and socializing with their many friends during their life together. Gladys lived for over a century and was a unique individual – a model, a lifelong athlete, a late-blooming artist, and an exceptional bridge player until shortly before her death. She was quite a character – a New York native who was naughty, flirty, quick to laugh, and loved people. She brought strength, love, and laughter to anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Above all, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother affectionately known as “Gigi” by all. She leaves her daughters, Patty and her husband Bruce Heim, Mindy and her husband Rick Mandel; grandchildren Nicholas Heim, David (and his wife, Leah), Jon, and Becca Mandel; and her great grandchildren Ezra and Eliot Mandel. She also leaves Marie and Steve Castellanos, and their family, who she loved as if they were her own. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to the charity of your choice.
