Glenda Crawford Prater's Obituary
Tucson lost a native Glenda Crawford, on January 7, 2023. Born on November 23, 1922, she attended Tucson public schools, graduating from Tucson High in 1941. In 1943 she married the love of her life, Tracy Prater, remaining married until his death in 1999. Glenda graduated from the University of Arizona in 1947 with a degree in Nutrition. Glenda and Tracy had four wonderful children, Steve, Doug, Barry, and Patti.
Glenda was an enthusiastic Arizona Wildcat fan and attended football, basketball, baseball and softball games. Later in life she enjoyed watching and listening to all U of A games. When her children were in school she was involved in the PTA. Glenda cared for her community and belonged to several local women's social clubs. She was a skilled quilter and belonged to the Quilting Guild. She also was active in several bridge groups. Glenda celebrated her 100th birthday in November with family and many friends.
She is survived by her brother, Albert, sons Steve, Doug, and Barry, daughter, Patti, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Glenda contributed greatly to her community, was loved, and will be missed.
