Gordon H. Earhart's Obituary
Gordon Holly Earhart was born on March 27, 1935 to Kraus and Agnes Earhart in Port Arthur, Texas. Gordon sadly passed away on November 18, 2025 at home with his loving family surrounding him.
At the age of 2, the family moved to Houston, Texas. It was here where Gordon attended San Jacinto High School, where he was active in football, track, and baseball. He was a 3 sport letterman. In 1952, he was Harris County player of the year in football as a running back.
After High School, he attended the University of Texas graduating with a degree in
Mechanical Engineering. Gordon was a life long member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. While at the University of Texas, he met the love of his life Boots Mitchell.
After graduation, he worked for Hughes Tool Company in Houston for twelve years before moving to Tucson, Arizona to open Earhart Ford Tractor Inc. that he owned for 51 years.
Gordon contributed much of his time and resources to community activities including Rotary Club, Civitan, Tucson Executive Association, Tucson Rodeo Committee, Centurions and Past President of the Far West Equipment Dealers Association. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of Pinetop Country Club and Oro Valley Country Club, where he served as past President.
Gordon never passed up a conversation and a glass of wine with his many friends.
Gordon is survived by his wife of 67 years, Boots, daughter Holly (John) Smith, son Mitchell (Joli) Earhart, 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life is being planned for the Spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
