Harold J. Roan's Obituary
Harold Joseph Roan, 91, died Monday May 29th, 2017 after battling pneumonia caused by progressing Alzheimer’s.
He leaves his wife of 68 years Donna (Gorden) Roan; his daughter, Arvada Kay (David) Walker; his sisters Lois Reed, Sharon Jacobs & Susan Branlund; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one great great grandson & numerous other family members as well as close friends.
Mr. Roan grew up in Aston, Iowa and joined the Navy at 17 where he served in World War II, Korean war, and the Vietnam war. He was honorably discharged in 1973 where he went home to his loving wife and daughter and became a maintenance man at Oracle Villa apartments, until he had a heart attack and could no longer work.
He dedicated his life to his family and friends. He gave off such a presence that anyone who would meet him would always remember him. He will always be remembered for the life and spirit he brought when he was around.
He loved puzzles, golf, watching jeopardy and the price is right. He had a cat named George that meant the world to him and he enjoyed all the little things he could do. He was independent, proud and loyal and he will be greatly missed.
There will be a Graveside Service, with Military Honors on Wednesday, June 7th at 9am at Evergreen Cemetery.
