Harvey Jurkowitz's Obituary
Jurkowitz, Harvey, husband, father, grandfather passed away on March 26th at the age of 81. Harvey was born in Pennsylvania and moved to Tucson to attend the University of Arizona for both undergrad and law school. He practiced law in Tucson for over 50 years while also serving as a part-time judge for the Arizona Superior Court, Pima County Justice Court, the City of Tucson, the Town of Marana, and the Town of Oro Valley. He served on a number of non-profit boards including the Merilac Lodge of Catholic Community Services, the Tucson Hebrew Academy, the Tucson Jewish Community Center, the University of Arizona Hillel Foundation, B’nai B’rith Covenant House, and the B’nai B’rith Youth Organization. He was predeceased by his parents, Irving and Florence Jurkowitz, and his brother, Jed Jurkowitz. He is survived by his wife, Chaya, his son, Dan (Lisa), and grandchildren David and Michael. Donations can be made to Congregation Anshei Israel, Tucson Hebrew Academy, or Congregation Chofetz Chayim.
