Helen M. Becker's Obituary
Helen M. Becker born August 15, 1912, passed away on January 31, 2012. She was born in Chicago, Illinois and attended the Chicago school systems. She was married to Morris Becker for over 56 years. During the Second World War, Helen knitted sweaters and socks for the soldiers. In 1945, Helen, Morris and her two sons moved to Tucson. Her hobby was playing Mahjong, visiting with her grandchildren and baking. Helen was a volunteer at Crippled Children's' Clinic for over 40 years and won several service awards from the clinic. She was a lifetime member of Congregation Anshei Israel and member of Hadassah. Her sons Drs. William Becker (Joyce) and Burton Becker (Phyllis); four grandchildren, Mark (Erin), Karen, Beth Ann and Amy; and two great-grandchildren, Garrett and Lauren survive her. Services will be held at EVERGREEN MORTUARY on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 2:00 P.M.. Interment to follow in the Congregation Anshei Israel Section of Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Square and Compass Crippled Children's Clinic, 2600 N. Wyatt Dr., Tucson, 85712-6106 or Hadassah, 6321 N. Canon del Pajaro, Tucson, 85750.
