Helen Palmer Mott's Obituary
The life of Helen Mott
Born Helen Jeanette Palmer on March 2, 1932 to parents Garner and Frances, Helen was one of 13 children. She is survived by her older Sister Dorothy and her younger brother Robert aka Butch (Carol).
Helen was loyal and loving wife to Leon Mott for 69 years. They lived together in New Mexico before moving to Arizona. They spent most their years living in Catalina before moving to Florence in March 2017.
She was a devoted mother to two children, Mike (Michael if he was in trouble) and Frances, who is lovingly known as Sissy (Bill). They blessed her with 7 grandchildren: Conrad (Beth), Calvin (Stephanie), Dee Anna (JJ), Kris, Heather (Joe), Julia (Nick), and Skye. Her grandchildren gave her some of her most favorite people, her 10 great grandchildren: Cameron, Cody, CJ, Abby, Hunter, Audie, Kristopher, Austin, Trinity and Greyson. Most of her grandchildren lovingly referred to her as “Ma.”
Helen was a proud and devoted member of the Church of Christ. She taught Sunday school and emphasized helping others and to “always do what’s right.” After raising her children Helen worked as beautician at Rosemarie’s Beauty Shop.
Being an excellent cook, Helen drew crowds with her delicious food. She was known best for her fried chicken/pork chops, breakfasts of biscuits & gravy, MASHED POTATOES, chocolate cake, angel food cake, icing with graham crackers, and her use caned milk. Food has a way into the heart, so remember when you enjoy these foods to think of her and remember how much she loved you.
Helen, Mom, Sister, Grandma, Ma- No matter who she was to us, we will all miss her warmth and kindness. What a special and wonderful woman we had in her! She is now resting joyfully in the house of the Lord.
