Herbert Hamovitz's Obituary
Herbert Hamovitz, age 85, born August 13,1928 in Pittsburgh, PA died peacefully at home in Tucson, AZ surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents (Ester Anna & Joseph Hamovitz), his wife of 56 years (Edie Wise Hamovitz), four brothers (Harry, Michael, Abe, and Neil), one sister (Mollie), a son-in-law (Warren Immerman), and one daughter-in-law (Amy Hamovitz). He leaves loving memories to be cherished by his four children: Gwyn Rogers (Chuck) of Mesa, AZ; Bruce Hamovitz (Anita) of Eugene, OR; Marcia Harrison (Steve) of Sarasota, FL; Linda Immerman-Stoffers (Bill Stoffers) of Tucson, AZ, his sister, Ruth Sanes of Albany, NY; sister-in-law, Norma Ziker of Pittsburgh, PA; 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, special friend Joannie Cole, of Tucson, AZ, and he was adored by numerous nieces and nephews. Herb loved his family, playing cards, and raising horses. His friendly and happy disposition made him a favorite to all. We are also grateful for the wonderful care that he received from all the staff while living at Hundred Palms, Tucson. The service will be led by Rabbi Robert Eisen of Congregation Anshei Israel followed by interment at Evergreen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully requests donations be made to a favorite charity .
