Howard Katz's Obituary
Howard Katz Age 92 Scottsdale, Arizona Howard Katz, long time NJ resident, passed away in Scottsdale, Arizona at age 92 on Tuesday February 18, 2014. His wife Muriel Katz passed away in March 2012. He is survived by his daughter, Susan; son, Michael and his wife Sandra Kurinsky. He is also survived by granddaughters: Rebecca Katz, Wendy Wachtel and husband Todd and their children, Charlie and Robyn and Alisa Rosenberg her children, Harrison and Cayla. Howard Katz was born in Newark, New Jersey; graduated from Montclair State Teachers College where he met the love of his life Muriel Helen Goldberg and they were married when he returned from the war. Captain Howard Katz, World War II Jewish War Veteran and Army Air Corp B-24 Navigator, received the Air medal with three Oak Leaf clusters, the Distinguished Flying Cross and a Presidential Citation. Howard earned his living as an accountant but true love was Community Theater where he acted in over 60 plays and musical, his favorite role being Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof. Howard and Muriel moved to Arizona a few years after they both retired where they were both involved in volunteer and Jewish community activities. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Howard's memory be made to the New Jersey Y Camps scholarship fund http://njycamps.org/, the Jewish National Fund or your local Jewish Community Services organization.
