Hubert (Hap) L. Henry's Obituary
Hubert L. (Hap) Henry passed away peacefully the evening of August 25, 2017 after a long battle with prostate cancer. He was born in Durant, Oklahoma July 6, 1934. He is predeceased by his parents, his brother Mickey, and his sister Margie. He is survived by his wife Josephine of sixty two years, his sons Lance (Virginia) and Scott, his grandchildren, Dallas, Brandon, Tanner, Brodie and Braelyn and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Tommie Rae Matz and his brother-in-law Dennis Darris.
A longtime resident of Tucson, he attended Tucson schools and was a forty year employee of Tucson Electric Power retiring in 1996 as a utility inspector. He served his country in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. He was an avid horseman owning horses since 1961. His knowledge and expertise regarding horses was unparalleled. He trained some of the best gymkhana horses in the state and all that knowledge will be greatly missed. He was an extremely loyal, honorable, kind and generous man sharing his extensive horse knowledge with anyone who requested his help. He was much loved by his family and will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the Casa de la Luz Hospice for their compassionate care during the last days of his life. According to his explicit wishes, no service will be held.
