Isabel Durnal's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Isabel Durnal
November 18, 1931 – August 17, 2025
Isabel Durnal, age 93, passed away peacefully in Tucson, Arizona, surrounded by the love of her family and the grace of a life well lived. Born in Morenci, Arizona, Isabel devoted her life to caring for others—first as a nurse, and later as the founder of an at-home care facility where she tended to the elderly with compassion, dignity, and unwavering kindness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Durnal Sr., with whom she shared many heartfelt years of family, love, and lasting memories. Isabel is survived by her six children: Harold, Coletta, Randy, Joseph, Triana, and Kristi; eight grandchildren: Kaira, Danielle, Mark, Cassandra, Charlie, Justine, Ryan, and Hailey; and eight great-grandchildren: Logan, Jaylyn, David, Sophia, Sloane, Penelope, Ronan, and Athena. Her legacy lives on in each of them—in their laughter, their stories, and the lessons she passed down.
A devoted member of Sacred Heart Church, Isabel taught catechism for many years and found great joy working with children in the parish. Her faith was her foundation, and she lived it through service, grace, and love.
Whether she was cooking for her grandchildren, tending to her garden, caring for her beloved turtles, or sharing wisdom with her community, Isabel lived as a vessel of God’s love—bringing comfort, kindness, and her faithful heart to all who crossed her path.
Her home was a sanctuary, filled with the aroma of homemade meals, the warmth of shared stories, and the gentle hum of her nurturing spirit. Isabel’s legacy lives on in the traditions she passed down, the lives she touched, and the love she gave so freely.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and remembered for her kind-hearted nature, her boundless generosity, and the way she made everyone feel truly seen.
In lieu of a formal funeral service, the family invites those who knew Isabel to honor her memory in their own way—through acts of kindness, moments of reflection, or simply by spending time with loved ones. Donations may be made in her name to Sacred Heart Church, in tribute to her lifelong commitment to caregiving and faith.
