I have known Ivan as a diligent, hard working, intelligent person that I proudly called my friend. His passing comes at a complete surprise, and my complete sympathy and prayers to the Castro Ornelas family.
Ivan was a joy, and made my days more bearable at school. I am grateful to have met such a wonderful human being.

I don't even know where to begin, Ivan was the first friend I ever made after I moved to Tucson. We had both just started at Sonoran Science Academy so in the time where I had nobody to talk to I was so glad to have met Ivan. He was such a good kid, always tried so hard at everything he did and honestly it was amazing. Even after High school though we weren't talking as much I know he was working so hard towards his goals. I am seriously going to miss you Ivan.
