Ivy Saathoff's Obituary
Dear Mum,
You have graced our lives for the past 89 years, but left us Saturday, Sept 12, to join Dad and your son Bill in heaven.
As a child growing up in Minnesota, you sang with your 2 sisters and mother and later became a registered nurse.
After writing to Dad during WWII, you and Dad were happily married for 63 years. Your dedication to each other and family gave Bill and me a charmed childhood. In the 70’s we all moved to Arizona.
Angie (Kris) and Adam (April), your grandchildren, were lucky to be living close by as they grew up. Their 6 children have benefited from knowing their great-grandmother. You have always been there for me as both my mother and best friend. Paul and I have valued the time we have had with you these past years. Although living far away our daughter Kylie and her daughter were blessed by knowing you.
As an RN you were head nurse of a surgical floor and later taught for Project Hope through Cochise College. Most loved were your 13 years teaching nursing assts. at Pima Medical Institute where they inducted you into their Hall of Fame.
Your window displays at Fellowship Square were famous. The friendly staff and your friends at Oasis were like family.
You are no longer with us in person, but have left us with memories of a truly kind person who will always be loved.
I love you Mum, Sharyn
