James David Lewis' Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of James (Jim) Lewis announce his sudden passing on March 1, 2025 at the age of 72. Born on February 4, 1953 in Worcester, Mass. to Charna and Howard Lewis. He started his career at Elisha Penniman in West Hartford as a purchasing agent after graduating from the University of Hartford. He was employed there for over 20 years. While there, he met the love of his life, Patricia, whom he married in 1982. Jim and Patricia welcomed their two children, Michael and Kim, in 1986.
Jim would move on to work for FlowTech in South Windsor for 12 years as a service coordinator. In his retirement, he was employed part-time by Home Depot, where he enjoyed both his co-workers and wearing his orange apron.
Jim was an exceptional person. He was kind, open-minded, warm-hearted and generally enjoyed being with people. He could strike up a conversation with anyone, whether it was to tell them about his time working for American Airlines in the 70's or how he cherished being with his kids and his grandson, whom he adored more than anyone.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 42 years, Patricia; his children Kim (Dustin) and Michael (Sarah); his grandson, Avi; his sister, Margi Albert; sisters-in-law, Cathy Gerent and Debbi Cosker; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Jim will be missed by his many dear, close friends, too many to mention. However, Paul Beley was a special part of Jim's life over the past 54 years, after meeting in college. Thank you Paul, for your support and all the good times you and Jim and our families have shared with each other.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Donations can be made to Shriners and Dana Farber.
