Jim and I have been friends for decades. He and I, with our sons, golfed together and rode mountain bikes. These are some of my fondest memories with Jim. Jim and Craig were a team my son Bryan and I were a team.
Since Jim and I were both from Ohio, naturally, we were both Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns fans-even in their worst years. I do not believe either of those teams ever had a more loyal and passionate fan than Jim.
On a purely professional basis , I worked with Jim on many cases. He also represented many of my clients-some of those cases involved serious allegations of criminal conduct. Jim was, simply put, one great lawyer, a zealous advocate, hard-working, hard-charging, highly ethical,"take no prisoners" type of lawyer. If he agreed to accept the client's case, they soon knew they were in excellent hands-to be sure.
Jim loved his family and was extremely proud of them. whenever we would talk or have lunch together, we would always compare notes about our families and our kids. He would beam with pride in speaking about his kids and Joyce. He loved her dearly.
I loved Jim like a brother and will miss him terribly, I take comfort knowing that he is in Heaven and his suffering that he endured at the end of his life-is over, God Bless You Jim! Since he is not here to say it, I will: Go Browns-this is your year!"
