Janet Elizabeth Schmohl's Obituary
Janet Elizabeth Schmohl passed away on July 24, 2023. Jann was born on March 6, 1946 in Detroit, MI to Betty and Claude Streb. She grew up in Grosse Pointe, graduated from Wayne State University and earned a Master's degree in Library Science from the University of Arizona. She was a librarian at Booth Fickett and Palo Verde schools as well as Pima Community College.
Jann was married to her husband Howard for 47 years before his passing in 2018. They shared a passion for Siberian Huskies and were active in the Canada del Oro Kennel Club and the Arizona Mountain Mushers.
Jann was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her brother Richard and her twin brother Joel. She is survived by her sister-in-law Judy Christiansen (Wayne), her niece Nancy Ingalls, nephew Mike Christiansen, cousins Patricia Alvord and Fred Alvord, and many friends whom Jann considered family.
A celebration of Jann's life will be held at Tohono Chul Park in the Wilson Room on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 2:00 PM. Donations in her memory may be made to the Humane Society of Southern Arizona
