Janice Francesca Postiglione's Obituary
Janice Francesca Postiglione passed peacefully June 18 in Athens, Greece surrounded by her loving husband Mick Toney and son Mario (Felicia) Acedo. Long-time art teacher at Davis Bilingual School in Tucson, she touched many students. Her loving art extended to friends and family with her huge heart, kindness and smile. Yet we can smile through our tears knowing that Cesca was doing what she wanted and she was where she wanted - in the beautiful blue waters of Greece. She was with those who she loved, and continues to love and be loved even now. Mick described the setting as "Paradise." It was that beautiful. You can't ask for much more than that. "There is only one success to be able to spend your life in your own way." She left us with years of love, kindness, gentleness, memories, laughter, tears and joy - a life shared. Janice Francesca, thank you for all the memories, the laughter, the sunshine that your smile brought us. We are so fortunate that your life crossed with others in such a significant way. Cesca, we will hold you in our hearts forever. Janice is also survived by son Federico Jr. (Terri) Acedo; grandchildren Taylor, Jaden, Tavia Mario Jr., Ashley, Roy and Jake; step-daughters Wendy, Autumn, and Brooke; siblings Arline Gunter, Linda (Stuart) Yeoman, John (Suzanne) Postillion and Frank (Ann) Postillion; and former spouse Federico Acedo. Janice Francesca has many nephews and nieces, friends from school, the education and art community that will all miss her loving presence. Let us remember that she compassionately loved us as we are and respected our life paths. Let us do the same, and follow her example as she followed Christ's example, embodying and expressing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Service at St. Augustine's Cathedral, 192 S. Stone 10:30AM on July 6. The reception location will be announced at the service. Donations to Tucson Children's Museum, Reid Park Zoo, or Planned Parenthood can be made in lieu of flowers.
