I am the last surviving first cousin of Jay. As children, we did many things together. During the war my father was the only one with a car, and he took us to skate at the old Words Fair Grounds in Queens, swam in the city pool across the street from our apt. building, and a lot of picnics in Conn. Although we have not seen Jay in many years, I think of him often, and share the memories of our families getting together on many holidays.
Yes! I wish I had the chance to meet your dad! He was obviously one hell of a guy, and led a beautiful, love-filled life! We're sending our heartfelt condolences to you Doug, Ginger, and the rest of your family.
