Jeanette Laura Wooster's Obituary
Jeanette Laura Wooster was born September 9, 1930 to her parents Harry and Olive (Palmer) Hutchings on a farm in Surveyor, Pennsylvania on the shores of the Susquehanna River. Jeanette was the eighth of ten children, and one of two daughters. Jeanette married Ray Wooster, son of Boyce Wooster and Edna (Proud) Wooster, on September 20, 1946. Ray was a coal miner until Jeanette visited the mine — after which she promptly declared him no longer a coal miner. Jeanette loved nothing more than family ,which in due time led to her and Ray having Edna Mae, John Edward, and Robin Ann.
In the early years of their marriage they lived near family around Surveyor, Pennsylvania and Honeoye Falls, New York. Ray and Jeanette eventually found their way to Arizona, where Ray was a Core Driller for Joy Drilling, and Jeanette worked for the Amphi School District as a cook and for Sherwood Medical while simultaneously raising her children and occasionally travelling with Ray all over the country. Some of Jeanette's favorite memories and stories came from the years they lived at Junior's in Bagdad, Arizona, and all the adventures she had with Ray exploring the desert in the Willys Jeep his brother-in-law Don fixed up for him.
Daughter Edna was the first to marry, and when first granddaughter Andrea was born, Jeanette's heart grew, making room for the grandchildren still to come. Jeanette's youngest, Robin, married and brought the first grandson Danny and daughter Angie Valentine into the growing family circle. When son John married Karen Wininger, Jeanette added another daughter to her family and, in all due time, her grandson Jon. After John's passing, Karen found love again with Wayne Grab, and Jeanette welcomed another grandson, Daniel, into her heart.
Being a wife, mother, and grandmother were Jeanette's greatest joys. All the ups and downs of life were handled with the practicality of a Pennsylvania farm girl, a deep love of family, and a strong belief in God and prayer. Jeanette's faith home was the Church of Christ on Los Altos in Tucson.
In time, Jeanette's grandchildren married and brought great-grandchildren of the two- and four-legged kind into the mix, and now there are even great-great-grandchildren. Somehow she remembered every birth date and prayed for the happiness and well-being of all. Jeanette didn't fear death, because she believed if the Good Lord thought today was her day, that was her day. No point in wasting energy on fear when it was all in God's hands. After a short illness, Jeanette died peacefully in her sleep.
Jeanette was laid to rest beside her husband Ray and son John, with her son-in-law Wayne nearby. She is remembered with great love by her family, friends, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Jeanette is survived her beloved daughters Edna and Robin; and, the daughter of her heart Karen. Also by nine grandchildren — Andrea, Danny, Jon, Angie, Daniel, Lee, Kelsie, Elizabeth, and Jodi — along with eight great-grandchildren: Scott, Jacob, Ramsey, Hayden, Sabrina, Eddie, Danny III, and Christian, and four great-great-grandchildren: Elijah, Mia, Selena, and Xavier — proof that Jeanette's kindness will have no end on this earth.
