Jeffrey Lee Frank's Obituary
Jeffrey Lee Frank
Jeffrey Lee Frank, beloved father, brother, mentor, and friend passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 16, 2023. His family and friends are deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden death. Jeffrey was 71 years old. His memory lives on with his children, Sierra L. (Alison) Black and Arwen M. (Matthew) Gleason; grand-children Rio, Serena, Caden, Toren, Sorcha, and Phaedra, his brothers Robert (Danielle) Frank and Fred Frank and his ex-wife, Kathleen Melanson
Jeffrey was a proud father and told anyone within earshot about his daughters and grandkids. He was a devoted, lifelong student of Tai Chi and would never hesitate to help someone perfect their form. He was a skilled mentor. He loved without reserve, was generous to everyone, and gave without hesitation. He had an amazing gift for entertaining storytelling, sometimes with a hint of exaggeration.
Jeffrey first came to Tucson AZ to attend the University of AZ and he fell in love with the desert. He loved hiking the foothills and wandering mountain trails wearing his trademark purple Converse, followed by chimichangas at one of his favorite haunts in South Tucson. He loved to travel and enjoyed his trips to Hawaii, Mexico, Nepal, California, Vermont, Florida, and Maine.
He had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, spending his spare time pursuing topics of interest and reading books. Jeff loved strategy and games, particularly chess, backgammon, and poker. He was an avid collector, with interests in Native American art, Indian Buddhist art, science fiction books, vintage horror movies, and of course his beloved crystals and minerals.
Jeffrey touched the lives of so many people. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him and he will never, ever, be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, please make your donations in Jeffrey’s honor to the Friends of Catalina State Park (https://friendscsp.org/donate/ )
