Jesse Alexander Horst's Obituary
Our beautiful Jesse Alexander Horst, age 29, has fought a long, hard battle with addiction and mental illness and is now resting at peace.
Jesse was born on December 23, 1994, in Tucson, Arizona to Stacey Cottle and Scott Horst. Jesse was raised by Stacey and Stepfather Andrew Cottle. He leaves behind his sister and protector Kayla (Cameron) and his brother Anderson who will always look up to his older brother. Jesse will be missed by many more including his girlfriend Miraida Lopez, his dad, Grandma Sandy whom he got his red hair from, other Grandparents, Aunties, Uncles, Niece, Nephews, Cousins, and friends.
Jesse was a gifted artist and created intricate drawings and beautifully crafted poetry. Jesse would take the purity of the blank canvas and add the abstract shapes and lines to form a creation of his emotions. His avant-garde poetry was an artistic interpretation of his feelings coming to life for the reader.
Jesse was smart, loving and hilarious - telling funny stories and seeing the humor in day-to-day trials and tribulations. Jesse loved his mom fiercely. His love for his family was deep and he often talked about his favorite niece Ava. He had a knack for finding the smallest lost items and his family members would often call on him to find their treasures.
Jesse was a beautiful boy and didn’t deserve the hand he was dealt. Addiction and mental illness did not define him. It tried to snuff out his light, but his light shined through to everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him.
Family and friends are invited to attend his Celebration of Life following the family viewing. Place and time to be determined.
We love you so much. Fly high Jesse!
A special Message from his mom: Now Jesse is finally at rest, and I will bring him home and hold him close to me.
