Jim was the first person I met at Sears in Tucson when I came over from Yuma AZ in 1989. He was the tech supervisor and lead tech. Other than the HR lady I had dealt with I didn't know anyone. He welcomed me with open arms and made sure I felt like I belonged. Everyone sought his advice and wisdom. He would always help or offer advice and was always kind to everyone. We have all moved on in one way or another, but I will always think of him as our leader. He showed us all how to be better not just at work but better humans. He was a real gentleman. A person I would like to be more like and the world could use more people like he was. RIP Jim heaven's gain is our loss.

My deepest condolence to the Shaffer family. I was very sad to hear the news that Jim passed away may you rest in peace you are now with Sandy again I had the pleasure of meeting you 33 years ago and will always remember when I talked to you about the offer I got to work at G&N appliance Parts and your words to me were jump the sinking boat and took your advice and with them still 29 years later. You and Sandy will always have a special place in my heart I will miss you. I know you're in a better place.

Jim and Sandra were great neighbors when I was growing up. I helped him pollinate and harvest tomatoes in his large greenhouse. Sandra and I always had fun extracting honey from the beehives Jim had. My father even purchased a second-hand Sears van from Jim as a third vehicle. Like clockwork, every Sunday morning we would see the Shaffer family all dressed up heading to church. You are finally back with Sandra and other family members that have been waiting for you.

Jim Shaffer, 80, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on June 2, 2023.

Jim was born on March 29, 1943 to Jack and Jewel Shaffer in Indianola, Oklahoma. After Jim graduated from Marana High School is 1962, he went on to serve in the Air Force. After serving in the Air Force he began a job at Sears where he worked for 30 plus years.

In 1965 , Jim married Sandra Tedder in Marana, Arizona. Jim and Sandra went on to have children, Christy Shaffer and Jason Shaffer.

Jim was predeceased by his spouse, his parents, Jack and Jewel Shaffer and brother, Don Shaffer. He is survived by Christy Shaffer, Jason Shaffer (Rachel Shaffer), his granddaughter, Emma Shaffer, and nieces and nephews.
