Joan B. Cartwright's Obituary
Born in Mt. Kisco, New York on November 26, 1922, Joan passed on to heaven on April 17, 2018 at the Brookdale Santa Catalina senior living facility in Tucson. She was 95 years old. She lived and raised her family in Bedford, New York, and later in life moved to Sanibel, Florida. There she enjoyed walking on the beach, gathering sea shells, and appreciating the beauty of the Gulf Islands. To escape the hurricane season, she began spending time in Arizona, and in 2005 made a permanent move to Sierra Vista.
Always the matriarch of her extended and geographically far flung family, she could be counted on to know the latest news of any child, grandchild, aunt, uncle or cousin. She is survived by her son John of Oro Valley, AZ; daughter Susan of Lexton, Victoria, Australia; son Rory of North Ferrisburgh, Vermont; and daughter Cindy of Bisbee, AZ, as well as seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
A proud member of the greatest generation, she will always be lovingly remembered by her family and all those whose lives she touched with kindness, generosity and love.
