John Albert Monta o,born November 27, 1932 in Golden, NM, died April 18, 2012. A longtime resident of Tucson, beloved husband for 56 years to Antonia Figueroa Monta o; devoted father of Terry Stoffle, John Monta o, Monica (Hector) Acedo, and Maria M. (Tom) Avilez; dear brother to Auggie Richardson and Mackie Torres, Pifi Monta o and Gabriel Monta o; cherished grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Mr. Monta o served as a paratrooper in the US Army during the Korean War, surviving the only two jumps made in Korea. He retired from Magma Copper Mines after 45 years. Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2012, 10:30 AM at Evergreen Cemetery, with military honors by Fort Huachuca Honor Guard. Visitation one hour prior at EVERGREEN MORTUARY & CEMETERY, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile.
