John Wallace Snedden, Sr.'s Obituary
John Wallace Snedden, Sr., 88, of Green Valley, AZ passed peacefully in his sleep on June 30, 2012. He was born in Sharon, PA January 31, 1924, son the late John and Margaret Snedden. He is survived by his brother, Lawrence Robert Snedden of Richmond, VA; sons John W. Snedden, Jr. of Twin Peaks, CA, Jeffrey D. Snedden of Mammoth Lakes, CA and granddaughter Megan Snedden of New York, NY. He was preceded in death by his sister Anne of VA, grandson Ryan Snedden, son Jerald Ray Snedden of Riverside, CA and wife of 12 years Annie Joyce Snedden of Green Valley. A Veteran and retired from the USAF after serving in WWII, Korean War and the Cold War, John was also retired from the Riverside County Sheriff's Dept., CA, after 25 years of service. He continued to work in the security field as an officer for Diablo Nuclear Power Plant, Lockhead Martin Missile Systems, and Raytheon Missile Systems, finally retiring in 2008. He was a well known teacher and instructor in police science, photography, crime scene investigations, firearms and bomb disposal. He was proud to serve both his nation and in his local communities. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church of Green Valley, 1393 W. Mission Twin Buttes, Rd., Green Valley, where he was an active member. Interment with military honors will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Tucson at EVERGREEN CEMETERY, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile. Donations may be made to the Evangelical Free Church of Green Valley Men's Group for continued work with community youth.
