What a wonderful tribute to John. Cathy and I met John and Donna when they transferred to Pampa - I don't think it is too much of a stretch to compare both directions in the Boston/Pampa to a foreign assignment - even though the languages are similar. No one has ever made this transfer with the gracious and friendliness as John and Donna. One particular memory (of many) is that several of us would eat lunch at the Rathskeller which was just across the street from the office. It was owned by a very outspoken Texan named Jesse who loved having a Bostonian handy for discussions - they developed a repartee that you would have thought they had know each other for years instead of a couple of days. John was a people-person and it was natural. We were happy to have known John, Donna, and the whole family.

We have so many memories, one memorable time was the Anniversary party at South Shore Country Club were we celebrated the anniversary with so much fun, dancing, and laughing and spending time with great friends, and family.

My heart goes out to all of you at this incredibly sad time. John was a good man and a dear friend. May it comfort you to remember how much he meant to so many. We have all lost someone very special.
I firmly believe his spirit will live on - the times he laughed, gave advice, or just listened, echo in the memories of those whose life he touched. He leaves behind a wonderful legacy: his strong and loving family.

I remember Mr. Young (because as a friend of Pauline’s I would never call him by his first name!) as a kind-hearted, friendly, boisterous man. He was obviously loved by, and had great love for, his children. Sending love and strength to the whole family. I am so sorry for this great loss. ❤️
He was always friendly, welcoming and warm. He even let me "marry" both of his daughters when I was 6. I know how much his family loved him and how much he will be missed. Peace and love. He's in a better place now, I am sure. Live in a way that makes him smile.
