MCCLINTOCK, Joseph Brown
22, Tucson, AZ, was laid to rest in the arms of his Heavenly Father on January 2, 2018. Born in Tucson, AZ on May 22, 1995, Joe positively impacted hundreds of people throughout his life.
Joe is survived by his grand-parents, Truman Max and Sue Oliver Mayes; parents, Richard and Kelley; brothers, Jonathan and Samuel; sister, Molly; brother-in-law, Ross; sister-in-law, Jessica; brother-in-Christ, Michael; nieces, Faye, Sue, Agnes, and Lydia; nephews, Cormac and Jack; uncles, Stuart, Charley, and Craig; aunt, Lauren; faithful home-health nurses, Laura, Ranae, Shelly, and Erica; multitudes of compassionate, skilled health-workers and teachers, and many other caring individuals who reached out to him throughout the years.
Joe lived with: Down Syndrome, a heart defect, Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (intractable seizures that cause mental retardation), lung disease brought on by H1N1virus (swine flu) in 2009, orthopedic problems, thyroid insufficiency, gastric reflux disease, and a mood disorder. He faced his health challenges valiantly, and was known to laugh or smile after having a seizure, as though to say, “O.K. that one’s over with, let’s get back to having fun!”
With the support of the wonderful educators of TUSD’s home-bound program, (special thanks to Mary Ann, Katherine, Paul, Julie and Teresa), Joe graduated from Palo Verde High School in 2015.
The McClintocks will host an open house to remember Joe on Sunday, January 14 from 12:00-4:00 p.m. in their home at 5602 E. 32nd Street, Tucson, AZ 85711.
