Joshua D. Sweat's Obituary
Joshua D Sweat passed away in Tucson, Arizona on January 29, 2026. In his 49 years, Josh made everyone feel like a friend, as he never knew a stranger. Josh will be missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.
Josh was born in Los Angeles, California on April 28, 1976 to Dennis and Roberta Sweat (Pankratz). He graduated from the University of Arizona in 1999 with a dual degree in Criminal Justice and Political Science, and a minor in Art History (for a girl, of course!). After graduation, Josh moved to multiple cities across the country, eventually settling back in Tucson in 2008. He had a vast wealth of knowledge beyond what most others could claim. Josh was a talented chef and enjoyed showing his love for others through his cooking.
Josh met his wife Naomi when they were both in the bridal party for their respective college friends in early August 2004. It was love at first sight, but Josh and Naomi lived on opposite coasts until Josh moved to New Jersey in January 2005. Throughout the challenges of life, Josh and Naomi maintained unconditional love for each other.
Josh is survived by his loving wife Naomi and his chosen brothers, Bret, Russ, and Glenn. He also leaves behind his mother Roberta. Josh was predeceased by his father Dennis and stepbrother Brent.
