Judith Rose Skrill's Obituary
Judith Rose Skrill was the third child of Stanley Arthur Mintz and Muriel Mintz. Her two surviving siblings are Randi Mintz and Robert Mintz. Judith is joining her younger sister, Wendy Mintz in her passing. Judith was the loving wife of Richard Lawrence Skrill, stepmother of Gabriel Skrill, and mother of two children, Benjamin Elijah Skrill and Joshua Evan Skrill. Judith fought an 18 month battle with colorectal cancer. In the end she passed peacefully and swiftly with her loving family around her. Her positive spirit and incredible strength were exemplified by her tremendous fight to live, which all her friends and family admired. Judith lived her life with an emphasis on spiritual simplicity. Previous to moving to Tucson in 1992, she worked in advertising in New York City, later working as a high style New York floral designer. She met her loving husband, Richard, in 1990 and from that time they were rarely apart. Together, Judith and Richard established and maintained a chiropractic practice. Her involvement supplied the structure for great success in supporting thousands of Tucson residents with their health needs. Judith, known as "Butterfly" by her close court friends was an important member of the Tucson tennis community. She was known for her love of the game, her shrewd strategic mind, and her compelling ability to focus. She was embraced by loving and supporting friends who aided her in every step of her treatment. Amazingly, Judith remained a competitive player up until her final month of life. She will always be a source of great inspiration to all those who knew her. Friends were also touched by her poignant and lyrical journal in which she shared her journey through illness. The illness took her body, but never her spirit. Judith was an active member of Temple Or Chadash. Her entire family so appreciates the support and love of the Temple who made her transition more peaceful. Judith Skrill was a woman of virtue, a pillar of strength, a great friend, sister, daughter, wife, and mother. In all ways her life was a journey fulfilled. She was loved greatly. Services will be held at Chapel Service 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 8, 2015 at EVERGREEN MORTUARY CHAPEL, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile. Burial to follow in the Congregation Or Chadash Section of Evergreen Cemetery.
