Kathleen Bodrie's Obituary
Kathleen Bodrie, beloved mother, partner, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 69 in her Tucson, Arizona home. Born on October 15, 1955, Kathleen brought warmth, laughter, and love into every space she entered.
She is survived by her children, Adam and Rori; her stepchildren, Justin and Brittany; her grandchildren — whom she considered the light of her life — and her cherished partner, Drew Wiley. She was preceded in death by loved ones Tatianna (Alice/Gran), Pat (Papa), and Sophia (Baba/Bob), whom she held close in her heart.
Kathleen lived a life full of care and compassion. She wore many hats throughout her career — working as a caregiver in medical settings, a skilled barista who knew the joy of a perfect cup of coffee, and, most proudly, as a flight attendant, a job she loved deeply for the freedom and connection it brought. She later worked in hospital administration and property management, where her natural kindness and attentiveness made her beloved by colleagues and patients alike.
Those who knew Kathleen will remember her as a happy, gentle soul with a deep love for animals, reading, coloring, cooking — and cow tipping. She had a playful side and a great sense of humor, and she loved sharing laughter just as much as she loved sharing a home-cooked meal. She found her greatest joy in her family, especially witnessing the births of her children and grandchildren — memories she treasured above all else. Summers spent vacationing in Port Hope as a child remained among her most cherished memories, and she often recalled the nickname her Papa lovingly gave her: “Toot.”
Kathleen had a few favorite sayings that captured her spirit: “What goes around, comes around,” “Tell it to God,” and the ever-playful “Take it back!” whenever someone spoke something unkind. She believed in goodness, in Jesus, and in the simple power of love and kindness.
Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched with her generosity, humor, and gentle wisdom.
