Kevin Jay Hopmeier's Obituary
Kevin Jay Hopmeier passed away on Tuesday, August 5, at Banner Health University Hospital due to an undiagnosed sudden illness. He was 64 years old. His death took place in Tucson, Arizona, where he was living at the time.
Evergreen Mortuary will handle the remains of Kevin Hopmeier. He will be cremated during the week of August 11th. A memorial service is planned to be held at a later date.
Kevin was born on January 15th, 1961, in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. He moved to Tucson AZ in 1968.
Kevin graduated from the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. He furthered his education at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where he earned his Master's degree in Accounting and Finance.
Kevin held key positions throughout his career, with his last role lasting eighteen years at Intuit Inc. After earning several promotions, his final position was Senior Finance Leader of the Small Business Division. He retired in 2018.
He was passionate about and actively participated in Community Services. He volunteered as a statistician for the Tucson Roadrunners and supported Arizona Athletics and The Hermitage No-Kill Cat Shelter & Sanctuary financially.
Kevin’s friends and family are deeply affected by his sudden passing. They will remember him for his kindness, patience, generosity, dependability, loyalty, and the strength of his character.
He is survived by his brother Peter Hopmeier, his Aunt Loretta Dunkelman and cousin Martin Dunkelman, along with his dedicated friends Rosie Esquer, Reggie Degner, Richard Peddy, Bobby Soto, Karen Frey, Mark Allemand, Erlina Edwards, and many others.
