Kit Woon Choy's Obituary
Kit Woon Choy was born in China on December 8, 1933. He married Ying Lan Choy and had three children Amy, Jenny, and Billy. In China, he was a farmer. He grew bamboo and fruit trees, made medicine to cure snake bites, and raised bees and fish to support his family. Kit moved to Hong Kong in 1966 where he worked as the main chef at Wong Sha Wong. He immigrated to the United States in 1976 with his mother and lived in Lordsburg, New Mexico where he worked for his sister at the Greyhound Bus Station. In 1985, he moved to Tucson, Arizona. He was a very strong man and still loved to garden, do house work, and take care of his grandchildren despite his health problems. He quit his job because he suffered from kidney failure and was on dialysis for 15 years. He was very lucky to get a transplant in 1995 it gave him an additional 20 years to live. During this time, all of his dreams came true. All three of his children started their own businesses, got married, and had children of their own. He had six grandchildren Melanie, Eric, Victor, Lydia, May and Julian. In 1996 he was able to visit his hometown in China to see his family and friends, and again in 2005 to see the new house his children had built. Kit Woon Choy was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He passed away peacefully on February 3, 2014. His memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones forever.
