Lawrence Marshall Grossman's Obituary
Lawrence Grossman 67, died January 2, 2014. In a 23 year career with the State Department, Larry served in Vietnam, Argentina, Washington D.C., Iceland, Belgium, El Salvador, Denmark and New York. After retiring, he worked for the United Nations in Angola, El Salvador and Mexico. A citizen of the world, Larry was fluent in eight languages. He served his country, yet no land was foreign to him. In Tucson Larry volunteered for the International Friends program for students of the U. of A. Many of those he befriended over the years have remained a part of his family. Larry was a man of curiosity, kindness and integrity who made lasting friendships wherever he went. One always felt welcome in his presence as he shared his immense knowledge with generosity and humility. He planted seeds of friendship and peace around the globe. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; brother, Ron; sisters, Roberta and Arlene. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University of Arizona Cancer Center.
