Lawrence Emery Karr, Jr.'s Obituary
LARRY E. KARR, JR age 79, of long time resident of Tucson, died November 2, 2011. He was born February 21, 1932, to Lawrence E. & Bea (Schonenbech) Karr, Sr. Larry graduated from Tucson High School in 1950. He was considered to be instrumental in Tucson High winning the 1950 high school state baseball championship, regardless of what Benny Rincon says. He played baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1950 1953. He played for the Tucson Cowboys 1954 1955. Later he played for Jamison Sporting Goods & Johnnie's Drive-In in Tucson's Summer Rec Baseball program through the 1960's. Larry was a 25 year member of the Tucson Bowling Association. He was employed and retired from Pacific Motor Trucking. After retirement he was employed by Central Alarm. Larry is survived by his wife, Pauline; sons, Allen Dale (Shona) Dennis (Mary) and Michael. He was proud of his eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Sharon and his brother Ron. A Memorial Service will be held 10 AM Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011 at Faith Community Church, 2551 W. Orange Grove Rd, Tucson.
