Leonard Michael Garcia's Obituary
Leonard (Butch) Michael Garcia of Vail, AZ passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025, at his
AZ home. Born June 2, 1942, in Chinle, AZ, he was the middle child of 10 siblings: Eugene,
Donald, Carl, Gumersindo, Antionette, Catherine, Samuel, Vincent Paul, and Gregory. His
family later relocated to Gallup, NM where he called home. Gallup shaped him and remained a
part of who he was. He married his high school sweetheart, Rae Marie Bustamante, and
together they had three daughters, Leslie Garcia, Linda Longfellow (Scott) and Christina
Alvarez (David).
Butch and Rae worked together to create not only a family they loved but a business that grew
and eventually led them from Gallup to Tucson, AZ where both family and business flourished.
They remained in Tucson for over 30 years.
Butch leaves behind his beloved spouse of 61 years, Rae Marie, their three children, nine
grandchildren and six great grandchildren. His family meant everything to him and his Catholic
faith kept him strong and focused until the end of his life.
A Rosary and Mass will be held on January 31, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Roman
Catholic Church, 215 S. Craycroft Rd. Tucson, AZ, 85711.
Burial will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery, 3555 N. Oracle Rd. Tucson, AZ, 85705
