Letty Anne Rodriguez's Obituary
Letty Anne Rodriguez, 82, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Sunday, January 11, 2026, in Tucson, Arizona.
Letty Anne was born on May 20, 1943, in New York City, New York. She later moved to Miami, Florida, where she began her career as an X-ray technician. It was there that fate intervened in the most unforgettable way—when she X-rayed a young man named John Edward Rodriguez after a motorcycle accident. Shortly thereafter, John spotted her walking her pet rabbit along the beach, wearing a yellow polka dot bikini, and knew instantly she was the love of his life.
Letty Anne and John were married in June of 1965 in Miami, Florida, beginning a remarkable 60-year love story. They were truly the loves of each other’s lives—John affectionately calling her his “pretty girl,” and Letty Anne lovingly referring to him as her “handsome man.” Together, they built a life rooted in devotion, laughter, and deep respect. Their two children always knew how much their parents loved one another, simply by watching the way they treated each other every day.
Raising her children was Letty Anne’s first and most cherished career. As a military family, she and John traveled often and lived in many places, embracing each new chapter with grace and adventure. Wherever they landed, Letty Anne made a home filled with warmth, beauty, and love.
Professionally, Letty Anne was a trailblazer in medical imaging. She helped establish a mammography unit in Nogales at a time when one did not yet exist, expanding access to preventative care in the community. Ever driven to learn and serve, she trained herself to become an ultrasound sonographer, performing countless ultrasounds—including those for her own grandchildren, a role she treasured deeply.
Outside of her professional accomplishments, Letty Anne was an avid gardener, a passionate cook who loved trying new recipes from Bon Appétit magazine, and a talented crafter. Each year, she lovingly created handmade Christmas ornaments for her family, commemorating milestones and memories that will now be cherished forever. A true fashionista, she delighted in expressing herself through style and always had the perfect outfit for every occasion.
Family was the heart of Letty Anne’s life. Her world was forever changed by the passing of her beloved husband John in August of 2025. Their bond was unshakable, and after sixty years of marriage, life without him proved immeasurable. She followed him in passing just five short months later, reunited once more with the love of her life.
Letty Anne is survived and deeply missed by her beloved children Reina and John and his wife Tina; her treasured grandchildren Cheman and his wife Marisa, John, David, Isabella, and Marina; and great-grandchild Bodhi John.
She will be remembered for her beauty, strength, creativity, and the extraordinary love she shared with her family. Her legacy lives on in every life she touched and every memory she created.
