Loran Charles Young's Obituary
On Saturday, October 26th, 2024 Loran Charles Young died peacefully with his wife Phyllis by his side in Tucson, Arizona. He was 87 years old. Loran was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed.
Loran was born to Charles and Zella Young on September 3, 1937 in Springer NM. He grew up on a ranch and as a young man joined the Army. He was stationed in Europe and some of his fondest memories were from traveling around Europe during that time. After serving in the Army he went to college in Las Cruces, NM where he met his wife, Anita. They welcomed three children together, John, Lee and Kelly, and eventually moved to Sierra Vista AZ.
Loran married his wife, Phyllis, in 1985 and was happily married for 39 years. They spent 37 years in Sierra Vista enjoying retirement, their church community, and traveling before moving to Tucson to be closer to family.
Loran was preceded in death by his parents and stepdaughter, Mary Dotson. He is survived by his wife Phyllis Young; children John (Peggy) Young, Lee Young, Kelly (Tracey) Young and stepchildren David Dotson and Stephen (Vicki) Dotson; and grandchildren Craig Fruehling, Jessica Fruehling, Benjamin Young, Jordan Young, Ember Young, Ryan Young, Lance Young, Storm Dotson, Colton Dotson, Emmalee Dotson and Porter Dotson.
A service to honor Loran will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 1:00PM at Desert Springs Presbyterian Church, 1555 West Overton Road Tucson, AZ 85704.
