Marilyn Burkam's Obituary
Marilyn Burkam Born in Newark, NJ on July 30, 1935, Marilyn Burkam died March 6, 2012 in Tucson where she resided for the last 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward M. Burkam. Survived by daughters Anita (Danny) Levkowitz of Tucson and Karen (Jon) Dien of San Diego, CA; grandchildren Brad & Jeff Levkowitz and Austin & Garrett Dien; great granddaughter Sophia Margaret Levkowitz. Marilyn grew up in Las Cruces, NM where she worked at the White Sands Proving Grounds where she met Edward Burkam, married and moved to Union, NJ. After their daughters relocated to Tucson, Marilyn and Eddie joined them in 1984. They were the owner/operators of Handicar Transportation Services. Upon retiring in Tucson, they have enjoyed their family, including their grandchildren, both in San Diego and Tucson. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker. Services will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2012, 2:00 PM at EVERGREEN MORTUARY, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile, with Rabbi Robert Eisen officiating. Interment to follow in the Congregation Anshei Israel Section of Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Community Food Bank or the ASPCA would be appreciated.
