Marina Cisneros Golden's Obituary
Marina Cisneros Golden (“Marinita” “Mom” “Grandma” “Grandmommy Abuela” “Noni”) was born August 4, 1927 in Guantanamo, Cuba to parents Felipe Cisneros y Montes de Oca and Concepcion Martinez y Soto. Marina passed away peacefully on October 19, 2024 in Tucson, AZ.
Marina is predeceased by her husband of 72 years, Donald Golden. She is survived by Son, John Phillip Golden, wife, Sarah, Daughter, Lee Cisneros Golden, husband, David Winter, Daughter-in -Law Anna Lee Golden-Fisk, husband Steve. Grandchildren: Aaron Golden Winter, wife, Megan; Hannah Golden Winter, Nathan Golden, wife, Tammara; Jeremiah Golden, wife Jade. Her Great Grandchildren are Morghan Golden Kroesche, husband, Michael; Bayleigh Heard, husband Dylan, Chloe Golden, Lilah Greer Winter and Ella Marina Winter. Her Great Great Grandchildren are Nathan Kroesche and Boston Heard. Marina’s Siblings are Felipe Cisneros (deceased), Bertina D’Augereaux (deceased), Concha Garcia (deceased), Virgilio Cisneros (deceased), Rolando Cisneros, and Isis Taylor.
Marina married Don in Guantanamo, Cuba while he was serving in the Marine Corp. They moved to his home town in East Tallassee, Alabama where he began studies at Auburn University. They subsequently joined family in Houston, Texas. Marina became a US Citizen as soon as she was eligible, and she was very proud of being an American. When their kids were grown, Marina and Don settled in Deer Park, Texas where they resided for most of their lives. She was a homemaker extraordinaire, creating a loving home for three generations. She was a fabulous cook and devoted herself to volunteer work, teaching Sunday School and travel. She and Don worshiped and served for 50 years at Deer Park First Baptist Church. Marina was the Center of Gravity for family and friends from Texas to Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Miami and Venezuela. Her Christian faith sustained her throughout her life. Everyone who knew Marina loved her. She was beautiful, kind, and gracious. We are blessed with her memory.
