Mark Edwin Scheeringa passed away surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy defined by curiosity, creativity, and unwavering devotion to those he cared for.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy Scheeringa; children, Sherry (Bill) Kennedy, Brian (Nicole) Scheeringa, and James (Nicole) Scheeringa; grandchildren—Arie, Mariah, Brendan, Katie, Sylvia, Savannah, Dayton, and Jamison—and four great‑grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his grandson Billy, whom he now joins in peace. He also leaves sisters, Marlene (Harold) Steiner, Joyce (George-dec.) Jacob, Evelyn Scheeringa, Marjorie (Del) Peterson, Laura (John) Hull, Jill (Kirk) Maatman and brother, Arthur Scheeringa. He joins his sister Delores (Charles) Cochran; brothers, Eddie, David, and Gerald Scheeringa in peace along with Billy.
Mark lived a life rich with interests that reflected his vibrant spirit. He had a deep love for photography, capturing the world through a lens with the same attentiveness he brought to every relationship. He collected baseball cards with enthusiasm, traveled whenever he could, and approached fantasy football with the competitive joy of a true sports fan. Whether watching a game or managing youth sports, Mark found community and connection in athletics.
Professionally, Mark was a gifted electromechanical designer and draftsman. His work included building drones for Insitu, a role that blended his technical skill with his inventive mind. He took pride in his craft and in the precision and creativity it demanded.
Above all, Mark cherished his family. His children, grandchildren, and great‑grandchildren were the heart of his world, and he celebrated each of them with pride. His presence, humor, and steady support will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Mark’s life was one of curiosity, dedication, and love—a life that touched many and will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
