I will truly miss you I’ll take with me all the good words of advise you granted me with. May you Rest In Peace with your beloved Naomi ❤️. Forever will I be thankful for the opportunity that I had to have met you and your amazing family ❤️.
Sitting with Marvin on the front porch of the Oxford Street house watching the Golden Gate bridge come in and out of the fog. Drinking from a gallon jug of Gallo burgundy, accompanied by sourdough bread and cheddar. Kibitzing about nothing and everything. As good a memory as I could ever ask for.
Testing... one, two, three, ....Gesundheit.
Dear Ducks,
I am saddened and sorry for the loss of Marvin to this world. You are in our thoughts and hearts. There are so many stories and I have some photos I’ll upload later, but for now I recall Marvin’s sense of humor. It was sophisticated and subtle but would open up like a jalapeño pepper covered in sweet puff pastry. Later I’d think how laser accurate and smart his off the cuff comments were, and how deeply humorous. And this must have been legendary because many many years ago I was hired to do the sets for Garrison Keillor’s show at orchestra hall. A camera man who had flown in from NYC approached me and said, “Duckler, that’s an unusual name. Do you know Ducky?” I looked puzzled. “Marvin Duckler, lighting director at CBS, we called him Ducky!” Many funny tales ensued about how mischievous he was, yet was a genius at his craft!
Love Lisa
Daddy- I really miss you! I don't know what to say... I know you never understood Facebook, but if you could just check out all of the amazing comments and things people are saying about you, I bet you'd be surprised and happy. You were a success in so many ways and an example to so many people. I love you.
My condolences to you all. Thank you for the great obituary. Marvin was really marvelous and a friend. Indeed, he was good at embarrassing you, but would always ease the suspension with his unique humor. His home studio was a sacred place, and the day he allowed me to record a guitar tune there, I considered it my American breakthru. He knew it and added: I recorded the Beatles too, you know, and he embraced you with his wide open eyes. Thank you for everything Marvin!
