Mary Margaret Robinson's Obituary
Mary Manelos Robinson was born to Harry and Toribia Manelos on January 24th, 1927 in Tucson, Arizona.
She ascended Home on April 19th, 2020. Mary was preceded in death by her Brother, Lt Col (Ret) William (Gloria) Manelos of San Antonio, Texas. Gloria survives in Tucson, Arizona; ex Husband, William Robinson of Green Valley, Arizona; their Daughter, Carolyne Marie Robinson of Haleiwa, Oahu; Grandson, Levi James McDaniel of Bagdad, Arizona.
Mary was a successful business woman and well-known pioneer resident of Sahuarita, Arizona.
The Manelos family owned a tiny general store and gas station, sold meat, supplies, and groceries.
Mary attended Tucson High School, and U of A. After the war, Mary worked the store and cared for her aging parents, and soon a young family. Through good times and bad, her strength and character preserved the family business. A tiny grill, and beer and wine license led to The Liquor License, and the area boom led to good times. The Sahuarita Bar and Grill became a meeting place for families and friends, as the community grew. Great memories and friendships remain. Mary was preceded in passing by many loyal customers, and friends that rejoice at her coming Home.
Mary is survived by sons, Richard McDaniel and Rand Gahart of San Carlos Sonora; Grandson, J.A. Alvarez, of Oahu Hawaii; granddaughter, Heather Lee Markle of Tucson; Nephews, Aaron (Misty) Manelos, John (Robin) Manelos; Niece, Nanette Manelos (Greg) Bishop; Grand-nephews, Nic Manelos and Will Manelos.
Mary's spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of her family, friends, and many that she touched with her advice, encouragement, and strength.
